Over the past few months I have noticed at least a few sites that are offering 1″ Original CHI flat irons for something like $60-$70. I just want users to be aware that CHI flat irons sold at that price are probably fake. Authentic CHI flat irons are typically $85 (or more) and authentic dealers do not sell these flat irons on eBay, Amazon, etc. I also want to warn users that there are also some unscrupulous sites in Hong Kong that are selling these fakes off of their own sites that are sometimes hosted in Panama. Look for online retailers that provide a phone number and physical street address. If there is no physical street address the retailer must be hiding something. I would also be weary of online retailers that only accept PayPal as the only form of payment. I mean seriously, would an online retailer really want to limit users to PayPal?
Authentic Chi Flat Irons can be purchased at reputable online retailers like BeautyChoice.com and Folica.com.

Costco is selling a CHI flat iron for $59.99. Do you think this is a fake?? It seems hard to believe that Costco would sell a fake?? Opinions??

I bought one today. According to this link, http://reviews.ebay.com/Determining-if-your-Chi-Flat-Iron-is-FAKE_W0QQugidZ10000000011204116, it’s authentic, although the ceramic places did not fully line up. I will exchange it tomorrow for a new one.

don;t buy chi’s on ebay. it appears as though there are a lot of fakes items rolling around on there and the mfg. warranty is not valid if you choose to purchase from this source. just a heads up.

i doubt they are fake, but that does not rule out the possibility. if you are considering purchasing an iron from costco you better order quick since they don’t last and are in very limited supply. you should check with farouk systems to see if the warranty is still valid if you purchase from this source. i doubt farouk will say yes.
